About Tekisite

Tekisite is a tech boot camp, initiated under auspices of the Reaching Minds Foundation. The project is a youth-centered initiative, with the aim of enlightening secondary school students and teenagers on the streets on the various career opportunities available in the world of tech, and empowering them with everything they need to know about the basics of these careers.

Statistics and the current trajectory of the labor market has proven that the future tech-driven economy will create 97 million new jobs and this current trend of evolution would do us great good especially as a developing country, with little to know jobs available, if we prepare our youths to seize the opportunity and contribute to this growing labor market.

Youths represents the future of every nation, including Nigeria, and equipping them with skills and opportunities will ensure they are prepared to thrive and drive the nation forward to achieve sustainable development. Creating access to digital literacy, skills development, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, The Tekisite Academy is a platform with a vision to consciously create an environment of inclusion to support kids from less privileged backgrounds through digital literacy and ultimately disabuse their minds from engaging in cybercrime, thereby resulting in huge benefits for the 15 million teenagers it aims to reach.

To achieve these, this project would bring together professionals in tech that are passionate about youth development on one hand and teenagers from all over the country and the continent who have keen interest and enthusiasm for ICT on the other hand.

Tekisite going to Oyo State

In a bid to fulfill our vision of making digital literacy accessible to kids in underserved communities, the first project for the year has been scheduled to hold in Saki, Oyo State.
The goal is to train at least 200 students from three secondary schools in the communities and make provision to ensure their training continues after the boot camp.

01

Tekisite going to Osun State

The goal of Tekisite Osun State unlike other boot camps is to physically train the students for an extended period of 6 months. This is the first of its kind as our physical trainings are usually for 2 weeks (while the rest is done online). Thus, for approximately six hours every week for six months, the students would be trained by our team of competent trainers, on courses ranging from graphic design, web development, product design, and photography. The training sessions were opened to outstanding students from the senior classes for us to achieve maximum results.

02

Take Action

The Tekisite project is centered in the field of Information and Technology with focus on two pristine core areas of technical skills training and mentorship. Bootcamps will be organized in rural areas on software development, graphic designing, video editing and other soft skills.
