Tekisite Ogun

The Tekisite team took the tech gospel to three places in Ogun – Abeokuta, Ijebu Ode, and Saki. The project's theme was hinged on two principles – technical training and mentorship. For three weeks, team members taught teenagers the rudiments of in-demand tech skills ranging from software development to design and photography. The project partnered with schools and had members spread out in three sites across the state. The project also allowed the teenagers to draw from the depths of expertise of team members, carrying on a one-on-one mentorship bond that continues to this day. The project ended with a conference at Abeokuta called the Tekisite Summit.

Tekisite Ayetoro

The first installment of the Tekisite project. Tekisite Ayetoro brought young experts together for the first time. After months of planning, Tekisite Ayetoro took off in a remote town in Ogun state, where just as with the subsequent projects, these young experts trained over 250 students in the basics of digital skills. In many ways, Tekisite Ayetoro initiated what has now become the Tekisite Project (A group of young tech gurus providing the next-gen kids with digital skills).

Tekisite Saki

Just a little over nine months when the first project took place, Tekisite Saki once again brought these young tech experts together to empower teenagers with digital skills. The project took place in three secondary schools where over 300 students were trained. Tekisite Saki established the team's resolve to create a blueprint of non-profit tech education for the next generation, particularly those most vulnerable to the pressure of cybercrime and social vices.

Tekisite Summit

The summit was the grand finale of project, ‘Tekisite Ogun.' The conference drew experts from all corners of the tech ecosystem. With eight speakers in attendance, attendees were provided insight into the impact digital technology can have on productivity, employment, and economic growth. The Tekisite Summit enlightened participants, particularly teenagers in attendance, on the dangers of cybercrime, and the need to embrace digital skills, as a viable career prospect, not just for the future but for now. The summit ended with four competitions- product design, graphics design, web development and photography.

Tekisite Lagos

The upcoming Ile-Ife installment of the project is set to further strengthen the resolve of the Tekisite team to continue empowering teenagers with digital skills. Because most team members are located in Ife, Tekisite has put in place plans for a continuous project in ife. This way, team members currently schooling in the area can maintain prolonged physical access with the teenagers even after the training is completed.

Tekisite Anambra

The Tekisite team hit the city of Anambra in October 2022 in furtherance of the team’s mission to groom, and inspire teenagers on the opportunities digital literacy affords. In 4 days, the team taught secondary schools students in Nnobi, Anambra the foundational principles of software development, and design. Sparking an interest in the youngsters to pursue tech careers. Partnering with the KACAC organization, the Tekisite team sewed a seed of digital skills in Nnobi. One set to spring up and make the city of Anambra, and the state of Nigeria a reference point for tech development in the world.

Take Action

The Tekisite project is centered in the field of Information and Technology with focus on two pristine core areas of technical skills training and mentorship. Bootcamps will be organized in rural areas on software development, graphic designing, video editing and other soft skills.

Tekisite going to Oyo State

In a bid to fulfill our vision of making digital literacy accessible to kids in underserved communities, the first project for the year has been scheduled to hold in Saki, Oyo State.
The goal is to train at least 200 students from three secondary schools in the communities and make provision to ensure their training continues after the boot camp.

Tekisite going to Osun State

The goal of Tekisite Osun State unlike other boot camps is to physically train the students for an extended period of 6 months. This is the first of its kind as our physical trainings are usually for 2 weeks (while the rest is done online). Thus, for approximately six hours every week for six months, the students would be trained by our team of competent trainers, on courses ranging from graphic design, web development, product design, and photography. The training sessions were opened to outstanding students from the senior classes for us to achieve maximum results.
